For Automated Extraction of Genomic DNA from Bacteria

MagCore® Genomic DNA Bacterial Kit is designed to extract genomic DNA from both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria via MagCore® automated extraction instrument. Our patented magnetic beads will bind to DNA fragments with high affinity. This highly specific binding technology will ensure that all important genetic information is collected efficiently. Purified DNA is applicable for downstream sequencing, species identification, and analysis for diagnostic and research use.

Product
Code 502 MagCore® Genomic DNA Bacterial Kit
Features
  1. Consistent and reproducible results.
  2. Cartridges are pre-filled and sealed to prevent contamination
  3. Minimal manual pipetting, complete automatic procedure from cell lysis to elution
Applications

MagCore® automated extraction systems allow processing multiple sample types in the same run, including:

  1. Bacterial cell culture
  2. Mucosal specimen

Purified DNA available for direct usage in downstream applications, such as:

  1. PCR and real-time quantitative PCR
  2. Southern Blot
  3. Next Generation Sequencing
  4. Genotyping
Performance
  • Bacteria-1

Table 1. Real-time PCR analysis of bacterial DNA purified from Helicobacter pylori. Bacterial DNA from Helicobacter pylori was purified by MagCore® automated extraction systems and applied to downstream real-time PCR. Results had shown that the Ct values are highly consistent and reproducible in triplicates of the same sample.
  • Bacteria-2

Table 2. Analysis of isolated DNA from Gram-negative bacteria E. coli DH5α purified by MagCore® automated extraction systems. Population density in cell suspension was determined by OD600 while DNA yield and purity by A260/A280 values. Sample 1-5: Bacterial DNA extracted from 2-fold serial dilutions of E.coli DH5α cell suspension.
  • Bacteria-3

Figure 2A. Analysis of isolated DNA from Gram-negative bacteria E. coli DH5α purified by MagCore® automated extraction systems. Consistency in yield and reproducibility of bacteria genomic DNA extraction were investigated with serial dilutions by agarose gel electrophoresis. Lane M: RBC 1 kb DNA ladder Marker; Lane 1-5: Bacterial DNA extracted from 2-fold serial dilutions of E.coli DH5α cell suspension.
  • Bacteria-4

Figure 2B. Analysis of isolated DNA from Gram-negative bacteria E. coli DH5α purified by MagCore® automated extraction systems. Consistency in yield and purity, and reproducibility of extractions were studied using A260/ A280 results obtained from Nanodrop n-1000. Overall, the yield of DNA followed a 2-fold pattern while purity of DNA (A260/ A280)fell between 1.8-2.1. Sample 1-5: Bacterial DNA extracted from 2-fold serial dilutions of E.coli DH5α cell suspension.
